Maintenance guides

Taking care of your clothes.

At ANONYM APPAREL, we design pieces that last. Crafted from rare materials with meticulous care, they deserve special attention. Well-maintained, an ANONYM APPAREL garment will be with you for years. Here are our tips.

Alpaca wool

Alpaca wool is a living fiber. The more you wash it, the more beautiful it becomes. We recommend washing your sweaters every 3 to 4 wears.

Hand wash (recommended)

  1. Briefly soak (max. 10 minutes) the garment in cold water with a special wool detergent.
  2. Wash gently without rubbing or wringing.
  3. Rinse with cold water.
  4. Gently wring by pressing the garment against the side of the sink, without twisting.
  5. Roll the garment in a clean towel to absorb excess water.
  6. Lay flat to dry, reshaping your garment and away from direct sunlight or any heat source.

Machine wash

  1. Use the wool or delicate program, on cold.
  2. Maximum 3 or 4 sweaters per wash, each in a mesh bag or pillowcase, taking care to sort colors.
  3. Special wool detergent (1 teaspoon per wash is sufficient), no fabric softener.
  4. Do not spin dry.
  5. Roll the garment in a clean towel to absorb excess water.
  6. Lay flat to dry, reshaping your garment and away from direct sunlight or any heat source.

To prolong its luster

Iron with steam, inside out, with a protective cloth.
Store clean, in an airtight cover, with natural moth repellents (lavender, cedar wood).

Do you notice pilling?

This is natural. It indicates an excess of material released by the friction of the fibers. Wash regularly and brush with a soft brush or a fabric shaver; they will disappear, and the beauty will remain.

The care you provide today is the beauty your garment will retain tomorrow.

A clarification on our fine weights

Our fine alpaca wool pieces are remarkably lightweight, which is precisely what makes them soft and pleasant to wear. But like any delicate fiber, they can be sensitive to repeated friction: a shoulder strap, a bag worn against the body, a car seatbelt, an everyday gesture. In the long run, this can weaken the material at a specific point.

This is not a defect. It is the nature of an exceptional fiber.

Our advice: opt for handbags or choose a wide and soft shoulder strap.

A simple gesture to preserve your piece.

Pima cotton

Pima cotton is durable, but proper care will preserve the vibrancy of its colors and the integrity of its fibers. For each wash, separate colors well.

Hand wash

Wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent.
Rinse thoroughly, wring gently without twisting.
Natural drying recommended.

Machine wash

Cotton or delicate cycle, 30°C maximum.
Natural drying preferred.
Ironing and steaming possible.

A note on our fine weaves

Our lightest fabrics are woven from long fibers, which is precisely what makes them both strong and soft. However, like all fine fabrics, they can be sensitive to repeated rubbing: a belt buckle, a jeans button, or a shoulder bag can, over time, weaken the material at a specific point.

This is not a defect. It's the nature of an exceptional fabric.

Our advice: tuck in your t-shirt, or opt for a belt without a protruding buckle.
A simple step to preserve your item.
